The Seattle Public Library staff set a new world record recently when they placed and toppled over 2,131 books in what is now considered the world's longest book domino chain.

It took 27 volunteers, seven hours of setup and five attempts but in the end, the record was set; and what an impressive one it is. Aside from being the longest, the chain had drops, uphill sections and at one point spelled out the word "read."

In addition to breaking a record, this also might go down as the most creative way to kickoff a kids summer reading program.
