5:04pm: A sign: “they sent me to Iraq and then sent me the bill. End the war. Tax the rich”

4:50pm: ;Huge crowd, but permitted rally lacks autonomous energy. Union march marshals and police officers openly collaborating.

4:39pm: Headed to Foley Park, before city crowds absorbed protestors. Now it's the other way around.

4:37pm: ;Large puppets of chickens "come home to roost". People have had time to prepare now.

4:35pm: On Broadway, first time I've seen lots of matching shirts. Big union and non-prof delegations. But you still can't tell civilians apart from protesters.
