Tim began his culinary career at The Hudson Valley Flying Pig Café. There he found himself sitting down to eat between the persons who grew his food and those who had cooked it. Suddenly, he realized that food didn’t come from the supermarket but rather from people. It was at that table where he developed a passion for local foods and farming.Tim's interests led him to The Culinary Institute of America where he jump started his career as a founding member of the Chefs Sustaining Agriculture Club. He then co-founded The Edible Education Project which provided cooking and farming classes for kids and seniors with dementia.He has "cooked" Live Foods at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, elegant banquets at The St. Regis Hotel in Manhattan and large scale student food service at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. At UMass, he studied “Sustainable Food Systems and Social Food Movements” and organized the writing of Food section of the UMass Amherst Climate Action Plan to achieve carbon neutrality.In May of 2010, Tim left UMass to help open Cafe 6 at the Facebook Headquarters in Palo Alto, CA and, in March of 2011, he co-founded Grubly, Inc. (www.grub.ly) to help connect people who love to eat with people who love to cook.Together, Tim and Chris are active members of the Slow Food Movement and US representatives of the global Youth Food Movement. Individually, Chris is a lifestyle and estate manager for a private family in Connecticut while Tim currently works as a Sustainable Food, Technology and Social Networking Consultant based in Palo Alto, CA.
