Penny Travlou is a Lecturer in Cultural Geography at Edinburgh College of Art/University of Edinburgh in UK. Her research is inter-disciplinary with a particular focus on politics of public space, digital culture, distributed networks, collaboration and peer production and anything to do with ethnography. Her work is rather ‘nomadic’ constantly travelling between Rome, Berlin, Edinburgh, Athens and other places in between. She is passionate about the ‘urban commons’, spatial justice and anything to do with the ‘right to the city’. She is also a core member of the P2P Foundation and the OuiShare UK. She is happy when working for the Options FoodLab project: a professional kitchen and co-working space for food training in Athens, Greece.
