Emily is a writer and educator based out of San Francisco focusing on inclusive and collaborative community building. In 2017 she received a BA in Political Science from Vassar College with the thesis "Towards a Politics of Love: A Critical Exploration of The Egyptian Revolution and Occupy Wall Street," exploring the role of participatory creative practices of art within these social movements in political identity formation and bridging people together from many different backgrounds. Her more recent work includes writing for The Borgen Project on how communities all over the world are working together to creatively combat issues around global poverty and economic inequality. She has brought this exploration back to the Bay Area as a current fellow with the AmeriCorps Public Allies program, alongside as an active member within the local San Fransisco community of housing cooperatives, Haight Street Commons.
