Chana Widawski is a social worker, writer and green-living coach based in New York City, which she dreams will one day ban single use plastics. Her writings have been published in Lilith Magazine, Huffington Post, Malaysian Star newspaper and professional journals, focusing on collaboration, inclusion and sustainability. Chana is the Families for Safe Streets Organizer for Transportation Alternatives. She also spearheads Hell's Kitchen Commons, grows her own veggies, and has led service-learning programs across the globe. She received her BA in Communication from SUNY Albany and her MSW with a focus in Community Organizing, Planning and Development from Hunter College where she serves as Adjunct Faculty.
