Candice Spivey is Shareable's Program Manager. Candice has trained to become an Organizer over the last 4 years with the Industrial Areas Foundation. In 2020 she began organizing protests around her hometown as a response to the murders of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd and spent time developing a local nonprofit organization through institutional leadership development as well as pragmatic and cooperative community problem-solving. Candice was born and raised in Rome, Georgia, graduating from Rome High School in 2006. In 2009 she graduated Alabama State University, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She has a spunky teenage daughter, Avenia, who enjoys growing her Jordan tennis shoe collection, cheerleading, and basketball. Over the last 12 years, she has worked within her local community with parents, students, and various community partners to improve the quality of life for at-risk families in roles as a mental health provider, special education teacher, and school liaison. She is passionate about the progression of her local community, voter education and registration, social justice, and women’s rights.
