Alison Huff is a nonprofit executive with nearly 20 years in the field. She joined the Shareable team as Operations Director in late November 2021 after spending the previous 15 years as Managing Director of Commonwealth Theatre Center (“CTC”) in Louisville, Kentucky, where she oversaw all aspects of business management & operations for the organization. At CTC she led a three-fold increase in both net assets and program participation during her tenure, and In 2015 she led the merger between Walden Theatre & Blue Apple Players - two local theatre education organizations - to create CTC. Alison is also Founder/Board Chair of the nonprofit start-up Elevator Artist Resource, a hub for artists & creators in the Greater Louisville Area to access resources, professional development, and promotional tools to elevate their economic growth & community engagement. In 2020 Elevator led a state-wide coalition to create the Artist Relief Trust initiative, a mutual aid fund to provide financial assistance for artists in need due to pandemic-related losses throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana, raising & distributing more than $200,000 in nine months. Alison also spent a decade on the board of directors of the Arts & Culture Alliance (“ACA”), a membership association of 100+ regional organizations, where she served as Board Chair and co-led an unprecedented effort to measure collective impact for the entire sector. Before working in the arts, Alison managed a network of youth learning centers in the social service sector, seeding her ongoing passions for community building and lifelong learning. Past honors include inaugural recipient of Fund for the Arts’ Allan Cowen Innovation Fund for Advancement of the Arts, through which Alison attended Harvard Business School’s Executive Education Program for Nonprofit Leaders, as well as Business First’s 2014 “Forty Under 40” list. She holds a Master’s in Public Administration with a specialization in nonprofit management from University of Louisville, where she also earned a B.A. in Political Science. Alison recently hopped the Ohio River to live just outside of Louisville, KY in a rural part of Southern Indiana, where she shares a log cabin with her partner, their two cats, and a silly puppy (and future goats, and maybe chickens... stay tuned!).
