From Reaction to Response to Resilience

What do we know about community’s ability to build resilience and what can we learn from others who have had to respond to a devastating crisis? What lessons do we need to learn now and share with each other to help our communities to move from Reaction to Response to Resilience during these challenging times? Join us for a shared screening and discussion of The Response: How Puerto Ricans Are Restoring Power to the People – a 30 minutes award-winning ‘micro-budget’ documentary exploring the network of mutual aid centers building collective resilience in Puerto Rico after the 2017 hurricane. The shared screening will be followed by a live Zoom discussion introduced by producer Tom Llewellyn. Together we will be exploring how we can collectively move from reacting to the current crisis to responding and adapting to our community's needs to building lasting resilience beyond COVID-19 that helps us emerge stronger as communities, as families and as ourselves.
