Wow, YOU did it. Shareable’s Sharing Cities Network crowdfunding campaign surpassed our $50K goal and raised $54,501, allowing us to earn the $25,000 matching grant from the SHIFT foundation! We are so grateful for your support. In the end we received 356 contributions—from people in 22 countries and 33 U.S. states—who are excited and committed to make sharing cities a reality.

The majority of donations came from our growing network of readers and sharing activists. We also recieved support from Seats2Meet, Freelancers Union, myTurn, MeshLabs, Near Me, BlaBlaCar, Home Exchange, and Emergent Research. We were truly inspired by everyone's generosity.

There were also many people who helped get the word out about our campaign including literally hundreds of readers like you plus OuiShare, On The Commons, Utne ReaderTriple Pundit, Good, Peers, Common Dreams, Creative Commons, Peers, Center for New American Dream, Christian Science monitor, and more. And then there were all the generous folks who donated premiums.

Thank you all so much, you've powered up our community organizing program and lifted our spirits.

So what’s in store for 2014? We’ll very soon be sharing how you can get involved with the Sharing Cities Network, the #SharingSpring movement, and worldwide ShareFest events so stay tuned. We’re already developing new features and resources for the website to support the network. To keep up with the growing movement and overwhelming enthusiasm for the Sharing Cities Network, we are growing our organizing team and would love more volunteers. It’s a huge project and we can only make it happen together.

Finally, we bid goodbye to Seth Schneider, who coordinated our crowdfunder, and is leaving to spend more family time with his new baby. So if you have questions about your thank-you gifts, please send those to donations@shareable.netWe need a couple of days to catch our breaths, but we’ll soon be sending out your books and stickers, setting up the online classes, and fulfilling the rest of your gifts.

Again, from all of us at Shareable, thank you for the great wave of support for the Sharing Cities Network and creating a more shareable world.

With gratitude,
Neal Seth Mira Rebecca Melanie Cat
