What would it take to live a life in which you bought nothing new? The New Joneses Project in Melbourne, Australia wanted to find out. Two people were placed into pop-up apartments in just their bathrobes and undies and asked to source everything they needed for a week, second hand.

While it was short-lived and relied on donations, the project proved to be a thought-provoking and inspiring experiment in maximizing resources and minimizing waste. Turns out, keeping up with the Joneses is not all that; the New Joneses are where it’s at.
