For those times when you're out and about and you just want to sit down, take a look at StreetSeats. A collaborative, mapping project that relies on the crowd to locate, photograph and map benches, chairs and other sittables, StreetSeats serves to round up all the public places where you can take a load off.

At this point, it’s only in New York but those behind the project hope that it serves as an inspiration for street seats everywhere.

Get involved
This project relies on crowd participation, so if you’re in the New York area you can add a seat or better yet, build and map your own street seat.

StreetSeats is also hosting a Collaborative Mapping Session on April 6th for those who want to help accelerate the project.
