ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Janine Christiano is co-founder of:
She helped pioneer community-based strategies in 13 LA neighborhoods that support the vastly under-served population of the financially distressed. Her work combats poverty and isolation by teaching people to leverage existing resources through relationship building. She has helped empower people to become involved in advocacy work and creative problem-solving within their own neighborhoods. Using Time Banking as the main form of leverage, she's helped to create maximum impact through minimal infrastructure by harnessing the power of community social capital and she wants to help more communities do the same.
Things I share: Everyday I share my time and presence with my family, friends, and many of the amazing people in my community. Outside of my immediate geographic community, I'd love the opportunity to share the successes/failures of the ASECO in a more structured way through workshops and writing in order to strengthen the movement as a whole. I would like to deepen the relationships with other sharing economy advocates across the country. There is great momentum now and it is exciting to see the projects emerging because of the inspiration and interaction of the people involved. I think given some additional time to collaborate, some deeply impacting projects will emerge or relaunch.
