Holly Million is an artist, filmmaker, nonprofit leader, teacher, speaker, and writer whose personal passion is empowering people to change their world. Holly has over two decades’ experience in nonprofit management, has been a consultant, director of development, executive director, and board member for scores of organizations, and has raised millions of dollars throughout her career. Holly also has over two decades’ experience fundraising for films. In addition to securing funding for A Story of Healing, which won a 1997 Academy Award, she has raised money for documentary and dramatic films that have aired on PBS, HBO, and other broadcast outlets. A skilled producer, Holly can handle the business, fundraising, and logistical aspects of taking a film from concept through completion. As a film director, Holly created Changing Room, a dramatic film that had its television debut on PBS in 2005. She is also the director of the feature-length documentaries A Permanent Mark: Agent Orange in America and Vietnam and Frackture, a film about parents in Western Pennsylvania fighting the installation of six fracking wells .5 miles from their children’s school. Holly is the producer of The Rugby Player, a feature-length documentary that tells the story of United Flight 93 passenger Mark Bingham and his mother, Alice Hoagland. Holly also produced It Came From Kuchar, a documentary about underground filmmaker George Kuchar directed by Jennifer Kroot, and she was a fundraising consultant on Blind Spot: Murder by Women, a film by Oscar-winning filmmakers Allie Light and Irving Saraf, Everyday Heroes, a film by Oscar-nominated director Rick Goldsmith, and numerous additional narrative and documentary films. Holly has an MA in Education from Stanford University and a BA in English from Harvard University.
