I live in St. Louis and love the opportunity here for building community, creating, doing, and sharing.
I am most interested in creating vibrant cities for all (not just newcomers or middle-upper class), and unique projects focused on decreasing the socioeconomic gap that exists in our society, including food justice. I am a proponent for sharing resources and minimizing consumption whenever possible.
What I do in STL: coordinate underWAREs, a project surrounding food + community (a bartering group, monthly underground dinner parties, and a food zine), work in community development (promoting neighborhoods in STL through events and media), organize the World Naked Bike Ride in St. Louis, attempted to start a bike library (one of my more notable failures, but we can always learn), advocate for bikes and public transit when I can, organized a park for Park(ing) Day to advocate shared public space instead of individual parking spots, share my knowledge of the city I love by offering my home to strangers, conduct restaurant deliveries by bicycle, and strive to be active and passionate always in the things I do.
I am hoping to, in the future, organize a more cohesive free school model city-wide and start a community kitchen as a space and resource for those who do not have access to their own.
