Ambika is the communications coordinator at Shareable and a freelance reporter.
Prior to joining Shareable, she was news editor at GlobalPost, where she worked with correspondents and editors based around the world to cover international news stories. Previously, she worked as a social media producer at Media Cause and as an assistant news editor at the San Francisco Public Press.
In 2012, Ambika received the Women Immigrants Fellowship from New America Media. She wrote an in-depth story on the reintegration struggles of survivors of human trafficking for the fellowship. In addition to her coverage of human rights issues, she has reported on international development and environmental policies. Her work has been published on Earth Island Journal, Bay Nature Magazine, and GreenBiz. She has also interned at the Campaign for Female Education, a nonprofit that provides educational opportunities for girls in rural communities in sub-Saharan Africa.
