Free events to help support local artisans and small businesses are available in Downtown areas in cities throughout the Gulf Coast.

The Biloxi Pavilion and Splash Pad offer free fun for the family with events, concerts, and a playground. It is connected to the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge, which offers skaters, bike riders, walkers, and joggers a safe place to exercise and mingle.

Downtown Biloxi's Art District provides free weekly entertainment, local arts and crafts, local music, and a great atmosphere for supporting the local economy.

Downtown Ocean Springs provides free festivals, farmers markets, charity events, gazebos, parks, splash pads, and a large walkway along the Ocean Springs Beach.

The Gulfport Pavilion hosts local bands, free events, and the weekly harbor and farmers market.

Jones Park in Gulfport hosts charity events, an open space to picnic and bring the family, concerts, holiday events, and a monthly free cinema show by the water.

The Historic Biloxi Town Green hosts free community celebrations for the holidays, charities, memorials, political events, and events to honor local traditions.

Hiller Park in Biloxi hosts free family cinema events and the annual free Renaissance Faire. This park has a small pavillion, bay for fishing, large open spaces, tennis and basketball courts, and playgrounds.

Coast CoLab is a group to gather local entrepreneurs and freelancers to meet in public places throughout the Gulf Coast for a safe, enjoyable coworking space.

The Gulfport-Biloxi area on the Mississippi Gulf Coast has seen quite a few changes since Hurricane Katrina. Some of those changes are positive, like two new community gardens (one in Biloxi, one in Gulfport), a bike share program, a co-working space, city leaders creating new common areas for free family fun, and a growing number of local citizens trading, selling and buying used goods, and giving items away in the freeconomy. There are so many wonderful efforts to improve the Gulfport-Biloxi area that I wanted to provide a space for people to organize, collaborate, and join forces with local groups to build the sharing and new economies on the Gulf Coast.
