• The newest distribution of top Linux operating system Ubuntu is now available totally and completely for free. This is the version (named Precise Pangolin in accordance with the bizarre convention) that Ubuntu promises to support long into the future, so it's worth a look even for Windows users.
   
• In more personal news, a Manhattan judge has denied my motion to quash the subpoena on my old Twitter account. The District Attorney is in a search for evidence to support a charge of "disorderly conduct" against me in relation to Occupy activities. Luckily, there's nothing there!
   
• Collaborative Consumption veteran Chris Templeton will start a new gig as managing director of The Impact Engine, an accelerator for social-entrepreneurial ventures. Look for this to be good for the sharing industry.
   
• Wish you could have your own legally operating autonomous drone? If you work at one of the few organizations just given governmental permissions, you might just get the chance.
