Since 2017, Shareable has been working with an amazing team of reporters, designers, and editors to produce “The Response” podcast series on disaster recovery. The podcast explores the idea of “disaster collectivism” or how communities come together and share resources during relief efforts. We are continuing to uncover some remarkable stories hidden beneath the surface of natural disasters, including those which have struck communities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Mexico.

Last year we asked you, our readers, to share your own stories of disaster relief or preparation efforts in your local community, several of which can be read here. As we launch our next series — including the second season of the podcast, a micro-budget documentary film, articles, and how-to guides — to explore the remarkable communities that create systems change after disaster, we want to hear from you once again.

Please contribute your stories no matter how small or large the disaster was or what your level of involvement in recovery or resilience efforts. We believe sharing personal narratives about how people collaboratively uplift their communities in the aftermath of natural disasters will inspire many others to do the same.
