How to Incubate 415 Startups in 2.5 Years [Infographic]

The Founder Institute (FI), whose tag line is "Globalizing Silicon Valley", just posted the below infographic outlining how they incubated 415+ companies in two and half years. It'll be interesting to see how many of these actually make a dent in the world. I also wonder whether these companies address key social and environmental challenges or are just business as usual in another, albeit sexier form - the startup. While the question remains whether they're incubating worldchanging enterprises or junk, theirs is an interesting experiment with lessons to be learned. Perhaps this model can be applied to creating resilient communities at the local level? Or to systemic social change? I appreciate FI sharing their blueprint which makes it easier for social entrepreneurs to give it a try elsewhere.

Absolutely. Think the world has enough Groupon clones and facebook games. We are using the model to launch a sustainability accelerator in early 2012. See if we can create some companies that provide not just short term financial value to society.

Sweet graphic!!!
