Cassini's Vision of the Solar System [VIDEO]

One of the most breathtaking things I've seen in quite some time is this collection of shots taken by the Cassini Solstice Mission, compiled by Chris Abbas to create an effect similar to stop-motion animation. We see CG depictions of these heavenly bodies in nature documentaries and sci-fi movies all the time, but it's truly breathtaking to see the actual rings of Saturn, as caught by Cassini. It's a pretty humbling look at the Solar System, and an example of the awesome art that can be created from public domain materials and open data.

Beautiful. I'm going to take this, and replace the music with "Out of This World [Version 138]" by the Art of Noise. I just tried it.... it works!

Amazing video, somehow it had a calming affect on me, images of space and the solar system always make me feel small and humble, more please.
