You're Invited to SHARE New York

The team at Shareable is excited to invite you to SHARE New York, November 19th and 20th, 2011 in New York City.

From the success of our e-book Share or Die: Youth in Recession, we’ve found that there’s a deep need for real talk about the fact that our economy is failing. It’s becoming clear that many of us, especially young adults who are inheriting unprecedented challenges, need to create our own jobs, social enterprises, and support systems in order to thrive. But how will we do it? And how can we do it together?

With these questions in mind, SHARE NY is designed to give you the tools, knowledge, and connections to help you create your own future - one that is more affordable, sustainable, and connected within a new economy that thrives on sharing.

Come join university students, social innovators, designers, and entrepreneurs for two days of dialog and collaboration. Learn from people who have created their own jobs and are pioneering new ways of working, living, and creating. Then take what you learn to co-design a project with other attendees that will help you and others thrive in these unpredictable times. Meet mentors, co-founders, collaborators, and leave with a guide for designing your future.

SHARE NY is a groundbreaking collaboration between Shareable Magazine and Parsons Desis Lab. SHARE NY was designed by Shareable and Cameron Tonkinwise, Ph.D, Chair of Design Thinking and Sustainability at Parsons The New School for Design, to help professionals and university students design social enterprises and mutual support systems. SHARE NY will be held at Parson and co-facilitated by parsons staff with a focus on design for social innovation and sustainability.
